August 9—The first medals of Beijing 2008 medals will be awarded today. There will be a total of 7 medals up for grabs. Competition will begin for Rowing, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cycling2 (Road) Final, Equestrian (Eventing), Fencing Final, Football, Gymnastics (Artistic), Weightlifting Final, Handball, Judo Final, Aquatics (Swimming), Shooting Final, Sailing, Volleyball, and Beach Volleyball.
