There’s nothing quite like October baseball. The World Series for sports fans is a special highlight of the year. Many of us can look back at different stages in our life with reference to our World Series memories.
Today we offer some World Series memories of a pitcher for the old Brooklyn Dodgers, Carl Erskine. Carl pitched for the Dodgers in the late 1940’s and throughout the 1950’s. It was a very romantic time in baseball when all three teams in New York were having consistent success.
Carl talks about playing with and against Hall of Famers such as Don Newcombe, Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle. He also talks about an unsung hero of the Dodgers, Roy Campanella.
It’s a step back into baseball history with former baseball pitcher, Carl Erskine.
