On this edition Sports Spectrum we talk about the big week in the NBA. The season is in full swing and on Tuesday there was a blockbuster trade that sent standout guard Allen Iverson to the Detroit Pistons and Chauncey Billups to the Denver Nuggets.
We discuss this trade and other NBA issues with one of our NBA analysts, sports writer Darryl Howerton. We also discuss the Lakers and the long term contract with young post player Andrew Bynum.
We visit with two kicking specialists in the NFL. First, we talk with veteran punter Hunter Smith of the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts have had to play through adversity this season and are off to an up and down start.
We also talk with veteran kicker John Carney with the New York Giants. John’s role in New York may not be long term. He was released earlier by the Saints and picked up by the Giants after an injury to their kicker. He talks about life’s uncertainties.
Finally, we get an early season look at the NHL. We visit with a former NHL player for Detroit, Winnipeg, Toronto and the New York Rangers, Mark Osborne. Mark shares his observations on the early season NHL news and looks ahead to the rest of the year.
It’s an hour of Sports, real-life issues in the NBA, the NFL, the NHL and faith—this week’s Sports Spectrum.
