<itunes:summary>I have to confess that, as a longtime Angels fan, it is going to be tough to see John Lackey and Chone Figgins in enemy uniforms this baseball season. I understand the business of the game, and I understand salary issues, and I understand player movement. But, I am still going to struggle a bit when the Halos play the Mariners or the Red Sox and see those guys come out of the wrong dugout. These are the kind of changes that are both unwelcome and unwanted. They are changes that remind me afresh of the transience of life.

I guess Bob Dylan knew what he was talking about when he sang, ldquo; The times, they are a-changing . . .rsquo; rdquo; We might want to live in the past, but life wonrsquo;t let us. Time marches on, and with it come the natural changes of lifemdash;and that can be unsettling. The changes of life can make us feel as if there is no solid ground in our world. Change can create in us a sense of uncertainty and instability that is very disturbing. But, in a world that is constantly changing, we can depend on the love of God (as we saw a few days ago) and we can count on the character of God. He is dependable and certain in a world of change, for the Bible tells us:

ldquo; For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.rdquo; (Malachi 3:6)

Everything else in life may change, but God (and His love) is eternally consistent. It is something you can count on in a world of change. Join us on Sports Spectrum radio or click on the player below as we look at changes in life, and how they impact our relationships.
